Danna Farms grows Fuyu Persimmons, a firm fleshed, non-astringent tree fruit that is about the size of a baseball, but flat, like a tomato.

Unlike Hachiya Persimmons, (heart-shaped, and squishy when ripe), they are sweet and delicious, even when firm. While usually eaten raw, out of hand, like an apple, they may be used in traditional persimmon recipes. Persimmons are a good source of vitamins A and C, as well as many nutritional minerals.

Fuyu Persimmons are normally harvested in October.
