Melons at Danna Farms

We currently grow Honeydews and Cantaloupes, in partnership with Fisher Ranch Corporation of Blythe, California. Our partnership allows us to provide fresh melons for domestic and export markets six months out of each year. Look for our melons packed under the Kingfisher label.

Our experienced crews cut the honeydews from the vine when they reach maturity—determined by sugar content and color.

A ripe honeydew will be heavy for its size, and have a warm, creamy color, possibly with some yellow. The skin should feel slightly sticky; a good ripe honeydew should have a sweet aroma to it.

A ripe cantaloupe is picked, not cut from the vine at maturity. It should not have any stem attached. The skin should be firm with only slight green color under the netting.

Melons are refreshing snacks or great additions to any meal of the day.
